Student Applications / PID Specialist @ Management Information System

Primary Purpose :
Facilitate the collection and correction of student data pertaining to PEIMS submissions and PID accuracy and interface all student applications with the user community for the MIS Department.
Qualifications :
Education / Certification :
- High school graduate or GED
- Must have an Associate's Degree or have a minimum of 48 semester hours of higher education coursework or pass a district test
Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis and do word processingEffective organizational, communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry and file maintenanceAbility to understand detailed written or oral instructionsAbility to meet established deadlinesExperience :
Two (2) years of experience in a school districtOne (1) year of experience with District Student Information (SIS) software in a capacity involving input, maintenance and reporting of dataMajor Responsibilities and Duties :
Records and Reports
Interface with registrars and other district personnel to insure the accuracy of Personal Identification Data (PID) and to insure district compliance with TEA mandated PID error tolerances.Assist registrars with correction procedures and research methods to prevent PID errors.Research, prepare and proof for accuracy on all manual corrections to state PID, and ensure timely submission of manual corrections to TEA via Region IV PEIMS department.Interface all student applications with school district users (registrars, attendance clerks, counselors, administrators, etc.). Answers questions and supplies requested information relating to student applications.Insure district compliance with TEA regulations relating to student accounting and reporting. Inform district users of new or changed requirements and helps coordinate any associated data input and collection.Assist in coordinating collection of data required for PEIMS reporting.Work with district users to determine requirements for custom-designed reports.Utilize Cognos report writer, SQL or modifies existing local programs to produce such reports.Work with Student Applications Coordinator to insure accuracy and functionality of all student applications.Training and Support
Conduct new user training, answer questions and supply requested information and reports relating to all Student System applications (TSDS, OnDataSuite, TREX, Schoology, ESP)Conduct student application professional development sessions and provide documentation for registrars, attendance clerks, counselors, discipline clerks, and administrators on input procedures and output interpretation.Research student application problems.Other
Maintain district user privileges to all Student System applications (TSDS, OnDataSuite, TREX, Schoology, ESP)Compile, maintain, and file all state and district reports, records, and other documents as required.Maintain confidentiality.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.Perform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $37,687 Mid. $45,087 Max. $52,486 (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
Salary is based on 235 days. If working less than 235 days, the salary will be less.
