Charleston, SC PICU RN Job Details Location : Charleston, SC 29401 – South Carolina healthcare jobs Unit : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), 28-bed unit Facility : Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Hospital, Academic Teaching Facility Assignment Length : 12-week travel nursing contract (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025 – End : 1 / 26 / 2026) Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 – 19 : 30), including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Total Hours : 36 hours per week Charting System : EPIC Orientation : 12 hours Estimated Weekly Salary Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1,530 - $1,640 per week PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Current and active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State / Compact RN license (pending license with proof of application accepted) Minimum 1 year of recent PICU RN experience (2 years preferred) BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association required) Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred Charge nurse experience preferred Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records preferred Ability to float to other pediatric units within scope as needed PICU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients (ages 0-18) with diverse medical and surgical conditions Manage patient ratios from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3, including ICU and step-down level care Perform advanced pediatric nursing interventions : ventilator management, ECMO / CRRT, dialysis, cardiac and respiratory support Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and support staff Document patient care accurately using EPIC EHR system Participate in emergency response teams, especially during hurricane season (June–November) Float to other pediatric or critical care units as required to support facility needs Why Choose Charleston, SC for Your Next Nursing Assignment?
