D.P. Tool & Machine , a family-owned precision machine shop serving aerospace, oil & gas, automotive, and medical industries, is hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) and Large Turning Set-Up Operator . This is a hands-on role in our modern, air-conditioned facility just 20 minutes south of Rochester.

We’re looking for machinists who want more than just a job — this is a place to build a long-term career. Many of our team members have been here 20–30+ years.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate large Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) to produce high-precision components
• Program and edit with Mazatrol controls
• Create workholding solutions and select tooling for efficient setups
• Load, unload, and secure large parts using overhead cranes and fixtures
• Perform first-article inspections and ensure parts meet blueprint and GD&T requirements
• Contribute to process improvements, Lean 6S, and ISO standards
• Train and mentor co-workers as needed
• Meet production goals for quality, throughput, and cycle times

What We’re Looking For

Preferred : CAD familiarity, tooling knowledge, and prior training in Lean or ISO manufacturing principles.
