Unit : Tele Intermediate

Beds : 26

Patient Ratios : 1 : 4 or 1 : 5

Common Diagnoses : CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy / brady syndrome, syncope

Telemetry : Central tele monitor tech

Ventilation Support : No vents; manages BiPAP, CPAP, HF / Vapotherm

Charge Nurse : Takes patients

Tech Support : 1 Tech per 9 patients

Certifications & Requirements

Active Illinois RN License (or proof of application in process)

Certifications : BLS, ACLS required

Experience : Minimum of 2 years Stepdown or Intermediate Care experience preferred

Documentation System : EPIC

Other : Must pass a drug screening (OSF is a Drug-Free Campus)

Schedule & Expectations

Shift : Nights, 12-hour shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (Friday–Sunday)

Holiday Requirement : Every other holiday

Floating : Expected; same ratio (1 : 5) when floated

Orientation : 1 day hospital orientation (non-billable, 12 hours total)

2 unit shifts (1 day, 1 night)

Additional Facility Notes

Hospitalist Coverage : 7a–5p; APN onsite with e-Hospitalist after hours

IV Team : No dedicated IV team

RT Coverage : 24 / 7

Pharmacy Support : 24 / 7; nursing does not mix medications

Scrubs : No required color (personal scrubs allowed)

Scheduling : No block scheduling; efforts made to group night shifts together
