Mental Health Therapist

Our client provides behavioral health services to juvenile youth in correctional facilities and / or outpatient programs. We are seeking a just-graduated, Masters-level, unlicensed therapist (registered as an intern or associate in the state of Florida) to provide these services to their facility in Lecanto, FL.

Overview

You will administer services in a professional manner while also providing counseling / therapy, establishing interventions for mental health and / or substance use disorders, assessing and treating juvenile therapeutic needs, and treating family wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities

• seeking or completing the necessary assessments;
• providing family, group, and individual therapy;
• coordinating and putting into practice behavioral health programs connected to the treatment plan and the beneficiary's performance plan;
• The implementation of the tailored treatment plan for mental health overlay services will be taught to the direct care staff;
• evaluating and recording how the direct care team is carrying out the patient's personalized treatment plan, as well as keeping track of the treatment process overall;
• organizing treatment team conferences as necessary or as scheduled to talk about mental health overlay services;
• creating the patient's aftercare and discharge plans for mental health;
• if necessary, acting as a liaison with the district child welfare and community-based care program office, the district or regional substance abuse and mental health program office, and the department of juvenile justice;
• Conducts needs assessments and psychosocial to identify preliminary issues for treatment emphasis by interviewing the resident and their family members one-on-one and transcribing pertinent information while working under the direction of the licensed clinical supervisor;
• under the direction of the licensed clinical supervisor, takes part in the creation and execution of treatment plans;
• identifies the residents' aftercare needs using information from the treatment team and written chart information, and develops and supports individual discharge plans for the residents;
• Participates in regular treatment team meetings to offer the interdisciplinary team with the therapists' perspective on the overall case management of the resident. This is done by reading and discussing written progress notes from charts and communicating any local or state agency legal requirements for case management. oversees the whole therapy program;
• conducts groups that are didactic and informative for residents and their families;
• writes handwritten notes about therapy sessions, the progress of the discharge planning procedure, and / or other interventions in the resident charges;
• reports suspected abuse situations using the forms and procedures established by the relevant local / state agency;
• offers individual therapy in accordance with the youth's personal treatment plan;
• Organizes groups for substance abuse intervention and education; and successfully and consistently administers the Positive Performance System (PPS) and Behavior Management System (BMS) programs.
• Identify, address, and stop the abuse of young people.
• carries out additional tasks as directed by a supervisor.

Qualifications

Education : A master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a closely related human services discipline is required for credentials, as is completion of training for working with young people who have behavioral disorders.
