Join to apply for the External Quality Engineer role at Novacel. The Quality Systems Engineer plays a key role in keeping our quality systems strong, our ISO certification intact, and our customers satisfied. You'll dig into problems, analyze data, and drive process improvements that directly impact product quality, cost, and delivery. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and central to our continuous improvement culture.
Role & Responsibilities
- ISO Certification : Support and maintain ISO certification by assisting with audits, managing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with all standards.
- Documentation & SOPs : Develop, update, and maintain SOPs and system documentation aligned with internal and industry requirements.
- Systems & Records : Implement and oversee programs to ensure accurate inspection, testing, and certification records for compliance and traceability.
- Audits & Inspections : Conduct internal audits, identify non-conformances, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Training : Provide training and guidance to employees on quality standards, product requirements, and safe work practices.
- Data Analysis : Use SPC, Pareto, ANOVA, and Cp / Cpk tools to analyze quality and manufacturing trends; prepare reports that drive decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to meet customer requirements and improve satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement : Contribute to Lean, Kaizen, and other quality initiatives to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Additional Duties : Support other quality and process improvement projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience : Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience); 5+ years in Quality, Engineering, or Operations; Automotive industry and regulatory background strongly preferred; Proven success managing customer quality concerns.Skills (Required / Preferred) : ISO quality systems experience (Required); 8D problem-solving methodology (Required); Proficiency in SPC and statistical tools (Required); Certified Internal ISO Auditor (Preferred); ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green Belt (Preferred); Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methods (Preferred).Abilities : Collaborate effectively across shifts and departments; Adapt to varied schedules (8–12 hour shifts, occasional weekends); Maintain focus, accuracy, and productivity in fast-paced environments; Prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines; Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Work Environment & Travel
Travel : 10–20% to customers and suppliers.Physical Demands : Constant standing, walking, repetitive motions, and eye / hand / foot coordination. Frequent lifting up to 50–75 lbs; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and grasping.Additional Details
