Job descriptionAdmit sick pediatric patients. Mostly through the ER occasionally direct from an office. Perform examinations on pediatric patients admitted to the hospital. Conduct comprehensive assessments, make diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans. Monitor treatment effectiveness and patient progress. Round in pediatric acute care areas including medical / surgical, ICU, ER and newborn nursery. Attend and assist in high-risk and cesarean deliveries on labor and delivery unit. Stabilize the newborn e.g. respiratory distress It may involve only PPV or CPAP may be needed. Full respiratory resuscitation is the doctor's responsibility. Daytime shift is generally 8am-4pm Collaborate and consult with a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, physicians and other medical professionals. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards. Schedule : Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm NO CALL needed at this time PERM docs cover call rotation Reason of the need - Perm doc is retiring in October. Will be looking to bring on another perm doc but will take sometime Ideal start date - October upon creds Must be board-certified / board eligible in Pediatrics, NY Licensed Small community hospital so there are generally only a handful of admitted pediatric inpatients which is also true for the newborn nursery. On any given day, the pediatrician could see 0-8 patients but we need to have one in place for such cases. This position is expected to last 3-6 months EMR : MEDITECH
