Spherion has a Direct Hire opening for an HSE Coordinator for an oil & gas related company in the Lafayette, LA area.

The HSE Coordinator drives the implementation of health, safety, and environmental protocols across the organization. Acting as a subject matter expert, they provide strategic guidance to Business Units on regulatory compliance and policy interpretation. Responsibilities:
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents and ensure effective corrective actions are completed.
- Ensure full adherence to corporate policies and HSE legislation by leveraging expert knowledge to identify hazards and implement proactive preventive measures.
- Design and deliver HSE training programs to keep personnel informed and compliant.
- Foster a proactive environment of safety and environmental awareness through strategic collaboration and associate mentorship.
- Track, analyze, and direct reporting on safety statistics to identify and mitigate emerging trends.
- Manage hazard assessments, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and comprehensive safety reporting.
- Collaborate with HR to manage Worker's Compensation Board claims and coordinate modified return-to-work programs.
- Facilitate professional Safety Committee meetings and support daily toolbox and monthly safety talks.
- Assist with the yearly sites management review process.
- Support Emergency Response Teams and assist in developing robust plant emergency plans.

Skills:
- Knowledge of ISO 445001 preferred.

Education/Experience :
- High school diploma/GED required, College Degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of dedicated HSE experience, preferably within the manufacturing or oil and gas sectors.
- Deep understanding of OSHA regulations; OSHA 30 certification is highly preferred
- High level communication and interpersonal skills in order to guide teams and solve complex safety challenges effectively.
- High proficiency in planning, scheduling, and time management to handle multiple priorities.
- Communicate clearly and work well with everyone in the company, from front-line workers to senior management.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Light travel, roughly 6 times/year.

Salary: $70-75K annually with generous benefit package.
