Overview

Birdsboro Quarry , a division of the H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Railroad Conductor / Laborer to c oordinate the operation of railroad locomotives, cars, and switching procedures in a safe and responsible manner, and support general labor activities in the yard to achieve daily production goals. The ideal candidate is motivated, energetic, interested and engaged in learning new skills, and carries out work safely.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Moves levers and depresses pedals to control operation, function and movement of machinery

Feels and listens to operate equipment most efficiently

Cleans equipment as needed

Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked and stored

Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level)

Performs daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition

Must perform daily work place safety exam if Brakeman / utility is not available

Notifies General Foreman of Railroad Operations of any requirements for maintenance or repairs

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Strong preference for Loader operation experience
