Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN with a current CA license and specialty certifications for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

Work in a Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care Magnet hospital

Night shifts with a 3x12 hour schedule (19 : 00-07 : 00)

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2

Patient population includes laboring women and newborns

Epic EMR is used and experience is required

Expected to float between like units or facilities within the state when needed

No on-call or weekend shifts required

Scrubs of any color permitted; scrubs are provided for L&D and OR staff

Responsibilities include managing laboring patients, supporting deliveries, and providing post-partum care

Free parking is available for staff

Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager discretion

Orientation modules must be completed prior to start and may require up to 16 hours

Must commit to working at least 3 of the following holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, or New Year's Day

All requested time off must be submitted upfront; excessive RTO may delay consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Locals are accepted at a lower rate if residing within 50 miles

Requirements

Active CA RN license in hand (no pending licenses accepted)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required

Certifications required : ACLS, BCLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN, and LA Fire Card (must be current within last 30 days)

Completion of Epic EMR training and recent use required

Two supervisory references from within the last three years covering at least one year of employment

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Former staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and may not be within 50 miles of the facility
