SURGICAL TECH - PRN (31717)

Purpose

The Surgical Technologist assists in the sterile environment of the operating room by providing assistance to the surgeon and procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for a portion of the perioperative care of the surgical patient by proficiently planning, implementing and evaluating the preparation of surgical cases and preparation of the surgical suite.
2. Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures in a manner as to make the procedure safe, effective and smooth flowing while adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
3. Responsible for the preparation of surgical instruments and equipment as appropriate to the surgical procedure.
4. Assist in the instrument, decontamination, prep and pack department when necessary.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Scrub Technologist program or applicable scrub experience is preferred

Experience

• Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or medical environment as a scrub technologist preferred.
• Robotics experience in Urology and General Surgery preferred

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Robotics experience in Ortho & ENT
