Position
Large Regional Health System has a need and is seeking a BC / BE Gastroenterologist to join an employed practice, and hospital.
- Diagnosing and treating GI disorders including Crohn s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive diseases
- Providing advice on diet and nutrition to patients and referring them to registered dietitians as needed
- Performing endoscopic procedures, such as ERCPs, colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, duodenoscopies, gastroscopies, and barium swallows
- Conducting research to advance knowledge about gastrointestinal diseases and treatments
- Prescribing medications to treat digestive disorders and performing surgery to remove polyps or other abnormalities in the colon or rectum
- Performing diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and stool tests to determine the cause of a patient s symptoms
- Participating in continuing education activities to maintain professional certification
- Referring patients to specialists if further diagnostic testing or treatment is needed
- Providing medical care to patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes or hypertension, to manage symptoms and prevent complications
