Program Summary :
The Child and Family Services Residential Program offers a supportive environment for up to 46 children across three specialized programs. Focused on healing and growth, our dedicated staff provides treatment in small-group settings, helping children and families overcome obstacles and address traumatic experiences that have impacted their ability to live at home. Through comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision, we equip children and families with the skills needed for a successful transition, either back to their home or to an alternative living arrangement.
The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the leadership and management of the day to day operations of the residential site.
Major Responsibilities / Activities :
- Responsible for the supervision and professional development of staff
- Responsible for implementing a safe and therapeutic treatment program
- Exhibits professional demeanor at all times as well as dependability and punctuality.
- Establish a positive workplace climate.
- Participates and contributes to program Quality Improvement process.
- Oversees risk management issues including the writing, reviewing of event reports and corrective teaching surrounding incidents. Promotes life or limb philosophy.
- Assure compliance with program regulations including Office of Children and Family Services and fire inspections.
- Participate in hiring of staff for program.
- Provide orientation, coaching, training and supervision for all direct reports
- Integrate Trauma Informed Care, Collaborative Problem Solving and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention principles in program to ensure therapeutic milieu.
- Responsible for the oversight of environment ensuring it remains safe, clean and comfortable.
- Oversee Independent Living program to ensure children are receiving appropriate skill development. Attend community meetings such as YIP as appropriate.
- Manage petty cash funds and ensure program needs are met.
- Models and practices sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Services, Education or other related fieldDemonstrated leadership skills2 years supervisory experience required2 years’ experience working with children with an emotional disabilityMust possess and maintain continued automobile insurance and a valid New York State Driver LicenseAbility to deescalate and manage difficult behaviors of childrenStanding , walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling and occasional lifting and / or moving more than 25 pounds may be requiredAbility to initiate or participate in physical interventions when necessaryCompetitive Salary of $60,500 per year based on a 40 hour work week
