• Call Type : Beeper
• Call Response Time : 15 minutes
• Phone Consults : 0–5 per day
• Admissions : 0–5
• Patient Volume :
• Minimum 5 outpatients daily;
• 0–10 call patients
• Variable inpatient rounds / consults;
• Resident / Teaching Supervision : Yes
• Support Staff : 1 RN, 3 MAs, 1 PA / NP, 1 Office Staff
• % of Practice : 70% inpatient / 30% outpatient (may vary)
• Case Mix :
• Management and treatment of Bartter’s Syndrome, Fabry Disease, Fanconi Syndrome,
• Hemolytic-Uremic Syndrome, Hepatorenal Syndrome, and Renal Transplant cases
• Skills Required :
• Intubation (newborn and pediatric)
• Procedures :
• Hemodialysis
• Preferred ; Percutaneous renal biopsy,Acute / chronic -Peritoneal dialysis, Needle biopsy of the kidney
• Beds in the Dept : 189 (Hospital), 5 (Outpatient)
• EMR : Epic
• Other Info :
• EEG reads required (performed at Reading Hospital)
• Provider must commit to at least 1 week per month (ideally 2 weeks) of availability
• On-call provider expected to manage both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered
