Position Overview

Reliance One, Inc. is seeking a motivated and collaborative Steering System Design Engineer to support chassis design activities for vehicles currently in development and in production. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple vehicle platforms, including light-duty trucks, SUVs, minivans, and sedans.

The Steering System Design Engineer will support steering system design and lifecycle management while collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers. This position reports to senior engineering leadership and provides exposure to a wide range of chassis systems over time.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate model lifecycle management for steering systems across light-duty trucks, SUVs, and minivans
• Manage and update technical documentation, drawings, and parts lists based on vehicle change points or cross-functional requests
• Perform regulation and certification confirmation activities
• Lead communication between design, supplier, and project management teams
• Monitor steering-related field issues and warranty data within North America
• Conduct root cause investigations for steering component concerns as needed
• Support benchmarking activities and evaluate cost-reduction proposals with suppliers
• Develop and recommend proposals for implementation of approved improvements

What You Bring

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective interpersonal communication abilities
• 5+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer or equivalent technical role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with chassis design and development
• Experience using CATIA
