The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer (Data Integration) to build and enhance the data infrastructure of Retina 2.0, our next-generation geospatial intelligence platform. You will design scalable distributed backend services to ingest, normalize, and serve multi-source geospatial data for analytics and visualization.

Collaborating closely with architects, data scientists, and frontend engineers, you will help ensure Retina provides seamless, federated access to both live and historical geospatial datasets in a cloud-native ecosystem.

What Youll Do

• Develop and maintain backend microservices for ingestion and normalization of geospatial data from diverse providers.
• Build GraphQL and REST APIs exposing curated data to internal and client-facing applications.
• Implement scalable data pipelines for caching, transformation, and persistence supporting real-time and batch queries.
• Collaborate with architects and scientists to define data contracts, schema designs, and access patterns.
• Design event-driven workflows for real-time alerts and area-of-interest (AOI) triggers.
• Write clean, well-tested high-performance code using Go, Python, or Java.
• Engage in architecture discussions, code reviews, and agile sprint ceremonies.

Base Salary : $130,000 $160,000, commensurate with experience and clearance status.
