Certifications : BLS, NRP

Must-Have :

• Experience in a Level 3 NICU
• Comfort with high-frequency oscillators and vents

Description : Unit : Level 3 NICU

Number of beds : 21 beds in NICU, 4 beds in PICU, 8 beds in Pediatric unit

Certifications required : BLS, NRP; PALS and STABLE preferred

Patient ratios :

Charge Nurse : Primarily NICU, not always Pediatrics

Nurse Aides : Not available

Weekend requirement : Every other weekend

Holidays : 2 major holidays

Scrub color : Navy

Telehealth : Phillips tele, not required to read

Ventilation : Experience with oscillators, Draeger, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula

In-house coverage : Neonatologist present 24 / 7

Additional support : Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24 / 7

Call : Occasionally, during low census periods (Standby)

Scheduling : Self-scheduling primarily

Floating : NICU float to Nursery and Pediatrics; Mother-Baby only if experienced

Floor specific orientation : 2-3 shifts in NICU and 2 shifts in Pediatrics

Common diagnoses / types of patients :

Must be comfortable with high-frequency oscillators and vents

Cancellation policy : Up to 4 shifts may be canceled during a 13-week assignment

Charting system : Cerner
