Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Peoria, Illinois (61637) – Central Illinois healthcare jobs Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date : October 16, 2025 End Date : January 15, 2026 Setting : Medical-Surgical Acute Care Unit (18 beds, primarily private rooms) Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM), 3 shifts per week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Weekend & Holiday Rotation : Every other weekend and per holiday policy Charting System : EPIC electronic medical records Estimated Weekly Pay : $1990 - $2130 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application in process BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience (Medical Surgical RN experience preferred) Proficient in titrating Heparin drips Strong IV start skills Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed Negative drug screen required Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse population of general medical and surgical patients Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5 : 1 during day shifts Administer and titrate Heparin drips as needed Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including hospitalists, intensivists, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy Assist with IV starts and utilize unit resources as needed Monitor patients with oxygen requirements and stable BiPAP / CPAP as appropriate Document patient care using the EPIC charting system Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the nursing team Engage in a comprehensive orientation process and ongoing professional development Apply now to join our healthcare team in Peoria, Illinois, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
