CNC Lathe Machinist

Location : Livonia, MI Shift : 2nd (4 : 00 PM–2 : 30 AM) Pay : $23–$35 / hr S ign-On Bonus : $1,500 after 90 days Shift Premium : 20%

Job Summary

We're seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team in Livonia, MI. In this role, you’ll work with a certified manufacturer specializing in precision gears and aerospace components, supporting prototype and production programs for the aerospace, automotive, and defense industries.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a C NC Lathe Machinist , your core responsibilities will include :

CNC Setup & Operation : Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components according to specifications.

Blueprint & GD&T Interpretation : Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T requirements to ensure accuracy and quality.

Tooling & Adjustment : Install and adjust chucks, tools, attachments, and stock pushers to optimize production.

In addition, you will also be expected to perform first-piece and in-process inspections, maintain production logs, and follow all safety and quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following :

Qualifications :

2+ years of experience operating CNC lathes.

Experience with dual spindles, malta, or turn / mill operations preferred.

Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.

Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.

Reliable attendance and attention to detail.

Skills :

Technical Accuracy : Ability to perform precise machining operations and maintain tight tolerances.

Troubleshooting : Skilled in identifying and resolving mechanical or process issues quickly.

Teamwork & Communication : Collaborates effectively with production and quality teams to ensure consistent output.
