American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for the Adult Emergency Department, requiring an active MA RN license and recent experience in a high-acuity ED setting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in the Adult Emergency Department of a busy hospitalCare for adult patients in a department with up to 120 treatment areas, serving 350-440 patients per dayPatient ratio ranges from 1 : 4 to 1 : 5 depending on acuityRole does not include assignment to trauma roomsMust be flexible to work 12-hour day, evening, and night shifts (7a-7 : 30p, 11a-11 : 30p, 3p-3 : 30a) as needed by the unitRequired to work every other weekend and every other holidayFloating to Psych ED and Pedi ED is required, with care given to patients age 15+ in Pedi ED unless prior pediatric experienceUse of telemetry monitoring equipment is requiredEPIC EMR experience is preferred but not requiredRole involves high patient turnover and fast-paced clinical environmentMust demonstrate flexibility and strong critical thinking skillsHoliday coverage is required on an alternating basisMonthly parking fees may apply and information can be found through the hospital's parking officeFirst-time travelers are not specifically excluded and local candidates are accepted at the same rate\n \n Requirements\n
Active MA RN license required at time of considerationCurrent TNCC, BLS, and ACLS certifications required and must be activeMinimum of 18 months recent experience in high-acuity emergency departments, including Level 1 or 2 (or 2+ years recent Level 3 / 4 ED experience)Previous Level 1 trauma hospital experience requiredAbility to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, including heart block identificationMust be able to pass an advanced dysrhythmia (telemetry) test on day one (85% or higher)Two professional references required, one must be at manager level or above and include a recent performance evaluation\n Benefits\n
