Civil Structural Engineer

Position Title : CIVIL / STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - POWER PLANT CONSTRUCTION

Location : HOUSTON, TX (CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS)

FLSA Class : EXEMPT

Position Summary : The Civil / Structural Engineer will come with expertise in power plant construction, particularly in concrete and steel structural works. This role will focus on the engineering and execution of civil and structural systems critical to large-scale power generation projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee design and construction, and ensure all works meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Lead the civil and structural engineering scope of power generation projects, including natural gas engine and steam turbine facilities.
• Oversee design and construction of foundations, piling, concrete structures, and structural steel systems.
• Review and validate engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide field engineering support during site preparation, erection, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, local building regulations).
• Collaborate closely with project managers, EPC contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
• Monitor contractor performance for quality, safety, schedule, and cost adherence.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for resolving complex civil / structural challenges during project execution.
