The Membership Growth Consultant (MGC) is an outside healthcare sales representative responsible for generating sales leads and membership by nurturing relationships with senior citizens, key local community partners, and senior-focused businesses to enroll new patients to ChenMed. The MGC is the first of three tiers in the MGC Success Plan and growth career path. The role involves arranging, designing, and orchestrating sales events and developing cost-effective techniques to encourage senior participation and satisfaction, helping drive referral sales to support membership growth. The incumbent communicates the ChenMed / JenCare value proposition at community events.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Nurture, build, and cultivate direct-to-senior and business-to-business partnerships to generate new patient opportunities year-round.
  • Meet with individual seniors and groups in homes, workplaces, houses of worship, senior centers, or living communities to share the ChenMed value proposition.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute local community events (e.g., information tables, health fairs, doctor talks) to reach medically underserved, Medicare-eligible seniors aged 55 and older.
  • Cultivate relationships with health plan agents, independent brokers, social workers, case workers, senior housing managers, and related providers to position ChenMed / JenCare as a top provider for senior healthcare referrals.
  • Partner with community officials, businesses, and senior outreach programs to drive new patient growth.
  • Schedule one-on-one sales meetings and referral relationships with Plan agents and senior communities; manage vendors and negotiate contracts for venues and events.
  • Invite insurance brokers to events to ensure timely patient assignment to ChenMed / JenCare Medical Centers.
  • Use marketing and sales tools to identify solutions and sell to new customers; maintain up-to-date client information in the designated CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and document interactions.
  • Provide monthly activity calendars reflecting community access points; create penetration plans in key markets and channels.
  • Recover dormant customers via sales tools and marketing campaigns.
  • Educate potential patients about our value proposition; deliver presentations to large audiences when appropriate.
  • Develop distribution channels to support new patient enrollment; use sales tools to ensure data collection and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to improve engagement with distributors, vendors, and community partners.
  • Build relationships with brokers / insurance agents / case workers / vendors; develop and execute broker and partner strategies and plans.
  • Engage with new patients beyond the first appointment; maintain relationships to support retention; address and resolve customer issues as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High business acumen and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Negotiation, probing, closing, and handling objections; comfortable with telesales and inputting data into CRM systems.
  • Detail-oriented; proficient in MS Office and CRM tools (Salesforce); strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage customers in conversation; persuasive without being pushy.
  • Flexibility and creativity in dealing with customers; warm, patient disposition appropriate for our target market and caregivers.
  • Good keyboarding speed and accuracy; fluent in English (bilingual a plus).
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to 75%; work primarily off ChenMed premises.
  • Must have independent judgment in performing responsibilities.
  • Education and Experience Criteria

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of successful sales experience; experience with seniors and Medicare Advantage is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of B2B experience or equivalent management experience preferred.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with business / vendor partners; telesales experience ok.
  • Current, valid Driver's License required.
