Job descriptionUnderstands controls engineering techniques and practices required for global facilities including North America, Asia, and Europe. Abilities to troubleshoot electrical / electronic control systems. Understands global manufacturing processes and safety requirements. Proficient use of AutoCAD drafting software to create electrical schematics and panel layouts. Understands programming of Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLCs, including ladder and function block diagrams. Understands programming Rockwell Automation HMI including PanelView Plus, PanelView Plus CE, and FactoryTalk View ME / SE. Understands designing, programming, and commissioning at least two control networks including ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus and / or Ethernet. Understands robotic systems including programming, safety requirements, and design / implementation practices. Understands computer hardware / applications and the Microsoft Office family. Understands corporate Ethernet architectures and systems at a basic level. Understands corporate server architecture at a basic level. Communication skills both oral and written. Problem solving skills. Supports manufacturing facilities, including remote support of worldwide manufacturing facilities. Designs, programs, and coordinates small-scale control systems and projects. Assists with coordination of new equipment installation and implementation. Maintains and updates manufacturing process tool electrical drawings, ensuring tracking of equipment changes is documented and drawings are kept current. Troubleshoots and problem-solves equipment controls related issues. Interfaces with multiple departments within the organization to ensure corporate controls policies / standards are understood and being adhered to. Assists senior engineers on large projects. Maintains effective communications levels and fosters team building. Ensures adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards. Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Ensures proposed solutions are properly understood and exploited. Contributes to research goals and builds on and refines ideas for evaluation, development, demonstration and implementation of research; uses available resources to gain up-to-date knowledge of IT fields; reports on work carried out and may contribute material of publication quality. Maintains awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address challenges or enable new ways of working; contributes to briefings and presentations about relevance and value to the organization. Specifies user / system interfaces and translates designs into physical designs considering environment, performance, and existing systems; produces detailed designs and documents work using required standards and tools. Designs, codes, tests, and documents moderately complex programs and modifications; conducts reviews of specifications with others as appropriate. Assists with safety assurance evidence and compliance with safety, technical and quality standards; documents hazard and risk analyses. Investigates and recommends components and subsystems that meet sustainability criteria. Designs test cases and scripts, analyzes results, and reports issues and risks; maps tests back to criteria. Performs and documents evaluations; defines build and software integration; produces builds for target hardware and documents fault diagnoses. Configures software and equipment; tests platform-specific versions; reports improvements. Installs or removes hardware / software; conducts tests; maintains records; provides user support and escalation as needed; contributes to installation procedures and standards. Uses system management software to collect performance statistics and perform maintenance tasks. Identifies and resolves application and network issues following defined procedures; conducts maintenance tasks. Initiates and monitors actions to investigate and resolve problems; assists with remedies and preventative measures. Receives and handles support requests; maintains records of actions and outcomes; cross-functional collaboration as needed. Other duties as assigned. Job description subject to change at any time. This position will have direct reports. 5% - 10% $67,400 - $96,000 Hybrid Physical Requirements : Will sit, stand or walk short distances for the entire shift; may climb stairs occasionally; may lift up to 27 pounds occasionally; must use hands to handle objects; 20 / 40 vision; safety PPE required; respirator may be required on production floor as a condition of employment.

Basic Job Functions
This is an entry level corporate controls position where a successful candidate will be required to support manufacturing operations, assist with equipment implementation / startup, development of electrical controls systems / designs, PLC / HMI programming, data collection and optimization of manufacturing processes control systems. This position directly supports a manufacturing site. The successful candidate will be assigned to PM shift from 6 : 00 PM to 6 : 10 AM on a rotating 36 / 48-hour schedule, which includes working every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Education / Experience
- Associates / Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent years of work experience.
- Minimum 1 – 5 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.
