Description

Governors State University is seeking to hire a Building Service Worker. The primary aim is to support the University in its mission of quality education by providing clean rooms, offices, corridors and restrooms. Effective and safe cleaning practices preserve the equipment and extend the life of the structure.

Essential Responsibilities

20% Vacuum and clean carpet. 20% Collect trash and recyclables and place in the appropriate dumpster. 20% Clean and disinfect classrooms, common areas, restrooms, and restock. 12% Mop, sweep, scrub, and wax floors and other surfaces. 12% Wash windows, door glass, and interior glass. 5% Clean, and disinfect exhibit cases, fixtures, windowsills, doors, trim, and related items. 5% Operate automatic scrubbers and sweeper. 2% Report equipment in need of repair to supervisor staff. 2% Remove snow and provide salt at all building entrances. 2% Other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate : $17.74

This is an unionized position.

THIS POSITION HOURS ARE 6 : 00 A.M. - 2 : 00 P.M.
