Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an X-Ray Technologist with surgery experience and ARRT certification for 10-hour shifts involving surgical imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Position based in a hospital setting
  • 4x10 hour shifts from 1 : 00 PM to 11 : 30 PM, may vary by an hour
  • Every other weekend shift required from 1 : 00 PM to 11 : 30 PM
  • Role involves working in surgery and using GE equipment
  • Minimal call before or after shift may be needed to cover high volume or call-offs
  • Holiday coverage may be required
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
  • Patient care and imaging in surgical and general radiology procedures
  • Duties include operating radiology equipment, performing diagnostic and surgical radiographic procedures, and ensuring radiation safety
  • Pass / fail EKG testing required on the first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided
  • Responsible for patient positioning, documentation, and assisting practitioners with fluoroscopy and specialized procedures
  • May require travel to nearby off-site locations
  • Will collaborate with physicians, technologists, and hospital staff
  • Exposure to high stress, fluctuating workloads, noise levels, and potentially infectious materials may occur
  • Must adhere to appropriate aseptic and radiation safety techniques
  • Required to document patient dose exposures and complete procedure documentation as per policy
  • Scrub or dress code policies will apply
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

    • Requirements

  • Certification and registration with ARRT required
  • Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care preferred
  • Proficient surgery experience required
  • Familiarity with GE equipment required
  • Experience with Epic EMR and PACS preferred
  • Experience with Radiology Information System preferred
  • State licensure preferred unless required by local law
  • License required if applicable
