Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an X-Ray Technologist with surgery experience and ARRT certification for 10-hour shifts involving surgical imaging.
Responsibilities
Position based in a hospital setting4x10 hour shifts from 1 : 00 PM to 11 : 30 PM, may vary by an hourEvery other weekend shift required from 1 : 00 PM to 11 : 30 PMRole involves working in surgery and using GE equipmentMinimal call before or after shift may be needed to cover high volume or call-offsHoliday coverage may be requiredLocal candidates are accepted for this positionPatient care and imaging in surgical and general radiology proceduresDuties include operating radiology equipment, performing diagnostic and surgical radiographic procedures, and ensuring radiation safetyPass / fail EKG testing required on the first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides providedResponsible for patient positioning, documentation, and assisting practitioners with fluoroscopy and specialized proceduresMay require travel to nearby off-site locationsWill collaborate with physicians, technologists, and hospital staffExposure to high stress, fluctuating workloads, noise levels, and potentially infectious materials may occurMust adhere to appropriate aseptic and radiation safety techniquesRequired to document patient dose exposures and complete procedure documentation as per policyScrub or dress code policies will applyCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligibleRequirements
Certification and registration with ARRT requiredAssociate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferredCurrent BLS from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient careMinimum of 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care preferredProficient surgery experience requiredFamiliarity with GE equipment requiredExperience with Epic EMR and PACS preferredExperience with Radiology Information System preferredState licensure preferred unless required by local lawLicense required if applicableBenefits
