Job descriptionMonday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (7 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM with 30-minute lunch). No weekends or on-call coverage. Proficiency in upper and lower GI procedures (colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, diagnostic endoscopy). Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills. Excellent teamwork and communication within a multidisciplinary care team. Experience with Epic EMR preferred. Daily Pay : $3,400 (malpractice included) Flight : Economy class only (no first-class travel) Hotel : Up to $200 / night (after taxes and fees) Rental Car : Standard class (no premium / SUV rentals) Mileage : Reimbursed at the IRS standard rate Board Certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA). Active Maine medical license or IMLC LOQ (preferred). Current ACLS and BLS certifications. Available to work at least one week per month through mid-2026. COVID and Influenza vaccinations required. ERCP experience preferred but not required. About The Position
Description :
We are seeking a skilled and board-certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Rockport, Maine. The provider will handle inpatient cases and outpatient procedures in a collaborative hospital environment. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule, no weekends, and no on-call duties.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy.
- Manage inpatient consults and procedures during scheduled hours.
- Conduct outpatient clinic visits (approximately 14–16 patients per day).
- Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency room staff, and anesthesia providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
- Provide patient education and ensure coordinated follow-up care.
