Physician Assistant
Physician Assistants can take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests, and X rays, make diagnoses, treat minor injuries, instruct and counsel patients, and order or carry out therapy. In most states, PAs can also prescribe medicines. Physician Assistants, who work only under the supervision of doctors, are employed in hospitals, clinics, and private offices. In rural areas, PAs may provide most of the medical care, with a physician available only one or two days each week.
Must have at least 2 years of Health care experience.
Must have bachelor's or master's degree and must be registered with the Louisiana Medical Board.
BLS required. ACLS encouraged
Nurse Practitioner
Provides direct patient care, discussing patient symptoms and concerns and performing thorough examinations to diagnose their medical problem and prescribe medication or create a treatment plan if necessary. When required, collaborates with physician(s) to treat for more advanced illnesses or injuries. Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.BLS(CPR) Certification requiredNurse Practitioner Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.Nurse practitioners practicing in the State of Louisiana must work under a collaborative practice agreement with the physician.ACLS Certification preferredMust be able to meet and maintain current MRMC credentialing and privileging requirements.Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication.Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds.Ability to work effectively with managers, co-workers, members of the public and professional groups.
