General Summary
The Warehouse Manager oversees daily warehouse operations, including management of warehouse employees, scheduling and daily work output. Responsible for warehouse safety, accuracy, productivity levels, and facility maintenance. Coordinates warehouse activities under the direction of the Director of Operations. Leadership, timeliness, and decision-making capabilities are necessary components for success in this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse.
- Develop and monitor procedures for receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping products.
- Take the lead with completing weekly cycle counts and assist in annual physical inventories.
- Verifies shipping and receiving inventory.
- Supervises updating and providing accurate records of inventory.
- Reviews inventory to monitor precise records of products stored or stocked.
- Enforces warehouse safety programs in accordance with OSHA, state, and local regulations to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees.
- Ensures all staff receive proper training in relevant job functions and certifications on equipment.
- Provides direction and motivation to warehouse team in order to promote efficiency, quality and accuracy in outbound and inbound warehouse functions.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure efficient operations by scheduling staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of order fulfillment.
- Partners with Human Resources on payroll, company policies, staffing and performance management procedures.
- Reviews and approves employee timesheets.
- Monitors warehouse overtime rates.
- Prevents disruptions to the business environment by addressing disputes quickly and displaying excellent diplomacy skills when handling conflict.
- Delivers disciplinary actions regarding company policy, performance and attendance.
- Performs all warehouse job functions and fills in when necessary.
- Coordinates correction of inventory errors, receiving errors and picking errors.
- Identifies and communicates maintenance and warehouse equipment repair requests to the Operations Director.
- Ensures the team has proper tools, equipment and PPE to execute assignments.
- Supervises and maintains the warehouse in a presentable manner, free of debris, trash and hazards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Exercised : This position will supervise approximately 10 employees.
Requirements : Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.Demonstrated warehouse supervisory / management experience.May be privy to sensitive employee information and will be expected to handle this information appropriately and with the utmost confidentiality.Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments.Detail-oriented with an understanding of process improvementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Planning, time management, and organizational skillsCoordination and inventory control skillsPrevious experience using Warehouse Management Software; ShipStation a plus. Performance metrics and Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience an asset.Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook 365.Must have previous forklift experience.Physical requirements :
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment.Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.Ability to sit for periods of time and use computers and other office equipment.Work Environment
Warehouse environment.Regular exposure to extreme temperatures, dusty conditions, fumes, machinery with moving parts, and outside weather conditions, including wet and / or humid conditions.Possible exposure to chemicals and other toxicants, electrical shock, loud noise, and high places.Note : The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and this job might have other duties as assigned, necessary for the efficient functioning of the department and company.
