Job Description

The Staff Chaplain provides compassionate, responsible, and supportive spiritual and emotional care to patients, families, and staff throughout Swedish Health Services. This role addresses the diverse spiritual needs of individuals coping with illness, loss, and crisis, offering presence, guidance, and support in alignment with each person's beliefs and values.

In addition, the Staff Chaplain serves as a vital liaison between patients and their families and community clergy, facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure continuity of spiritual care during hospitalization or treatment. Through collaboration with the healthcare team, the chaplain contributes to holistic, patient-centered care that supports emotional well-being, resilience, and meaningful connection.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Completion of 4 units of CPE
• Within 3 years of hire National Chaplain Certification
• 3 years in ministry with one (1) year in a medical setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree In Divinity or equivalent degree
• Previous experience using an electronic medical record

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
