Director, Transmission & Interconnection

Position Summary

The Director of Transmission Strategy will lead Antora's transmission and interconnection activities, including defining Antora's transmission and interconnection strategy, advocating in front of RTOs / ISOs and utilities to create transmission service that works for flexible, low load factor loads, identifying ideal grid locations for our thermal energy storage projects, and ensuring rapid and cost-effective interconnections in partnership with our utilities. They will lead the internal team managing interconnections and will externally represent Antora with RTOs / ISOs, transmission providers, and utilities to shape policy and strategic outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee interconnections for multiple 100+MW thermal energy storage projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
• Develop strategies to minimize transmission costs, including designing innovative RTO and / or utility tariff structures to provide non-firm or dispatchable transmission services.
• Direct analytical efforts and utilize tools to identify optimal project sites.
• Act as Antora's leading voice on transmission policy, engaging externally with RTOs / ISOs, utilities, and regulatory entities through testimony, written filings, white papers, and industry presentations.
• Ensure strategic alignment across internal departments including business development, operations, and government affairs / policy teams.

Salary Range : $174,000 USD - $244,000 USD

Sala ry Basis : Annual

The actual salary offered will be within the posted range and determined based on several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experiences, credentials and expertise, as they pertain to the position's requirements.
