Tax Specialist

Staffmark is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with a leading organization in Mer Rouge, LA. If you have a strong background in tax accounting and are ready to take the next step in your career, this position could be a perfect fit.

Salary : $50,000 - $75,000 (based on experience)

Schedule : Monday - Friday | 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

As a Tax Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the company's compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. You''''''''ll be responsible for accurate and timely tax filings, supporting audits, and collaborating with finance and accounting teams to optimize tax positions and reduce risk.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns (sales / use, income, property, etc.)
• Monitor changes in tax laws and assess business impact
• Support quarterly and year-end tax provisions under GAAP
• Assist with tax audits, including documentation and data collection
• Reconcile tax accounts and review journal entries
• Collaborate with departments on tax implications of new initiatives
• Identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities
• Maintain organized tax records and compliance calendars
• Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities
