WHO WE ARE

SunServe is Broward County’s leading lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual/ally and gender variant+ (LGBTQIA+) social service agency.

Our mission is to provide critical life assistance and professional mental health services with an emphasis on economically disadvantaged, marginalized youth, and senior adults in the greater South Florida metropolitan area. Summary:

The ELS Life Coach is responsible for assisting in operations of the Sunshine Pride House, supporting the residents, and providing TIP life coaching services for all residents and recent alumni of the Sunshine Pride House.

Key Responsibilities:

Life Coaching Services (50%)

• Assist residents of the Sunshine Pride House in their transition to independent living and self-sufficiency utilizing TIP life coaching services
• Facilitate regular life skills workshops and activities for residents of the Sunshine Pride House.
• Case conference with Residential Services Director, therapists, student interns, and house specialists as necessary
• Document all life coach services provided in the appropriate manner required by funding sources

House Management (50%)

• Organize and participate in screenings of new referrals for program eligibility
• Assist Residential Services Director in ensuring chores are completed in a timely and complete manner
• Assist in move in and move out procedures
• Ensure alarms are properly set at the end of the day
• Provide support on call as needed on a rotating schedule

Qualifications:

• Passion for LGBTQ+ equity, social justice, and community empowerment.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in social services (housing or homeless related services preferred)
• Strong documentation skills and record keeping
• Excellent communication, and relationship-building
• Commitment to equity, intersectionality, and trauma-informed leadership.

Travel: As required by job

Type: Full Time- Salaried

Time: 2pm-10pm. M-F for some weekends is required.
