Warehouse Supervisor

Job Summary :

• Performs a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
• Work involves most of the following : Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
• May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
• Oversees the storage and distribution operations.
• Directs employees engaged in Warehousing Operations using automated and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems.
• Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on weekly or monthly basis.
• Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Project Supervisor.
• Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.
• Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.
• Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and conditions of the contract.
