Concrete Journeyman

With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company.

Responsibilities : In this role, as Concrete Journeyman, you may perform any combination of tasks to assist on the construction site. This position performs a wide variety of duties and tasks that often require assisting other tradespeople, including laborers and carpenters.

Job Duties Include :

• Setting up the forms for edge of slab, sidewalks or walls.
• Building forms
• Pouring concrete raking to proper grade.
• Grading and prepping subgrade Spreading and smoothing concrete.
• Tooling expansion joints and edges.
• Using stains or colors to add the finishing touch.
• Adding small stones or other materials for decoration.
• Applying waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work.
• Install wire welded fabric or re-enforcing bar
• Ability to operate a skid loader
• Understand use of a laser level
