Project Manager - New Construction

Location : Southeast Virginia. Newport News

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee new construction mechanical projects from award through final client acceptance. This role carries full profit / loss responsibility and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Oversight : Manage all phases of mechanical construction projects including contract administration, scheduling, budgeting, supervision, and quality control.
• Client Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and general contractors post-award.
• Scheduling & Coordination : Collaborate with contractors, inspectors, designers, and internal teams to ensure timely installation of plumbing, HVAC systems, ductwork, insulation, and controls.
• Material Management : Coordinate with prefabrication and procurement teams to ensure efficient material flow and timely delivery.
• Budget & Cost Control : Monitor labor, subcontractor, and material costs; update forecasts monthly using internal accounting systems.
• Change Management : Estimate and manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation and timely approvals.
• Commissioning : Develop and lead commissioning plans, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
• Team Leadership : Conduct regular meetings with foremen and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
• Project Closeout : Facilitate handoff to service teams for warranty and ongoing maintenance.
