Job Description
American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with BLS, CCC-SLP, and acute care experience for a hospital-based acute care role focusing on dysphagia and related disorders.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital settingServe patients across ICU, neuro, and CVIMC units with a variety of acute diagnosesPrimary focus on dysphagia, with additional consultations for language and communication disordersPerform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) proceduresDay shifts, Monday through Friday, from 7 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pmEvery third weekend is requiredFloating within the hospital as neededEPIC EMR experience preferredMain responsibilities include assessment and intervention for dysphagia, as well as language and communication disordersCollaboration with multidisciplinary teams in ICU, neuro, and CVIMC unitsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyReturn staff must have been gone for at least one year and must still be in good standing; locals are not eligibleBackground checks are accepted with only minor infractionsRequirements
Current BLS certification requiredCCC-SLP certification requiredValid state license required if applicableMinimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting requiredExperience with MBS and FEES procedures preferredProfessional references from assignments within the past year requiredCOVID vaccination required or a valid exemption submitted at least one week prior to startMust reside at least 50 miles from the facilityBenefits
