This is a night shift position.

Position Summary :

Responsible for clerical duties, communication and reception duties on assigned nursing units. Provides general support to both clinical and non‐clinical. Demonstrates appropriate population specific communication skills.

Essential Functions :

• Actively participates maintaining a safe environment. 1. Recognizes, troubleshoots and initiates corrective action needed on equipment.
• Follows hospital and nursing department policies and procedures regarding the care and use of equipment and supplies
• Complies with all policies of the hospital and nursing department
• Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injury to self or patients
• Demonstrates organizational and time management skills
• Completes work within a timely manner according to department guidelines
• Maintains neat and clean work area
• Orders and maintains clerical supplies as necessary
• Orders necessary unit equipment and supplies
• Performs errands in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate using telephones, intercom, computer systems
• Answers telephone promptly and politely, identifying self, title, and department
• Receives and sends messages in an accurate and timely fashion
• Communicates with the patients, family, and members of the health care team in a concise, tactful and considerate manner.
• Must represent the hospital in a professional courteous manner while being sensitive to how others perceive both verbal and non verbal communications
• Implements Downtime process and procedures including order interpretation and transcription as necessary
• Notifies RN of any stat order
• Registers patients, assembles and disassembles charts in a timely manner, performs other clerical work according to unit guidelines

Other Duties :

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.49 / hour
