General Description
The Financial Analyst is a full-time, dedicated resource reporting onsite at Kennedy Space Center in support of the NASA Environmental and Medical Contract (NEMCON). This position contributes to key project control functions, focusing on compiling, validating, and analyzing financial data to support accurate reporting and informed decision-making. This role operates in a fast-paced environment and involves collaborating with contract personnel to prepare financial reports for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. The analyst will also support ad-hoc financial modeling and business analysis efforts, helping drive strategic and operational insights across the organization.
How You Will Fulfill Your Mission
- Monitor and analyze contract funding levels and operating plan variances, with detailed tracking down to customer, performance work statement (PWS), and reporting category levels.
- Support the development of Estimates at Completion (EACs), including variance analysis, direct rate impact assessments, level-of-effort phasing, and identification of cost deviations from plan or contract value.
- Collaborate on EAC planning and reviews, proactively identifying when project controls require adjustment to maintain alignment with funding and contractual parameters.
- Configure project structures in Costpoint to ensure accurate cost capture in accordance with contract requirements.
- Set up project codes for workforce assignments, billing and revenue processes, and upload funding and contract values as needed.
- Reconcile data exports from the accounting system to invoices and government Data Requirement Deliverables (DRDs), applying rigorous quality control and assurance practices to validate financial data.
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies promptly, identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Provide analytical support for cost proposals and contract modifications, including pricing reviews and rate development for unique scenarios.
- Partner with the Accounting Department to support invoicing, month-end close, accounts receivable / payable, and other financial operations.
- Communicate financial performance and detailed variance insights to internal project managers.
- Participate in and contribute to meetings with the Government customer when necessary.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong prioritization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines consistently.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or another related analytical fieldExperience with government contracting, including different types of contracts.Expertise using MS Excel, and the ability to become proficient in other software applications.Ability to think proactively to resolve cost issues before they arise.Adept at communicating complex ideas and concepts in a manner that is easily understood across the organization, both verbally and in writing.Ability to multi-task and manage time and multiple priorities effectively to successful completion.Ability to work in a team-oriented, dynamic, collaborative environmentStrong attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications
