Coolant Technician, M-F 7 : 00 AM- 3 : 30 PM

Summary :

Performs maintenance work particularly related to machine coolant systems, oil systems and various project related work.

Job Responsibilities :

• Maintain coolant systems in all machinery; monitor and adjust levels daily, measure concentration and PH and adjust accordingly, apply anti foam as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate log of coolant readings and adjustments
• Responsible for maintaining oil control filters and oiling of all machinery
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by the maintenance work order system
• Assist maintenance technicians on repairs and projects as needed
• Comply with all quality requirements while continually maintaining and improving the effectiveness of MacKay's quality management system
• Support and participate in department goals as well as company goals
• Other duties as assigned

Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, requirements and specifications. Ability to write reports and complete daily log records. Ability to effectively participate in discussions with groups of peers, employees and vendors.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as tolerance, fractions, and other measurements.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with supervisor input. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions with concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, cold or humid conditions while emptying and filling coolants and oils, servicing equipment and performing facilities maintenance outdoors.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to maneuver 400 pound coolant barrels with force to push, pull and slide barrels onto a cart for transport. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
