Job Purpose

TheSenior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful planning, execution, and completion of complex electrical construction projects. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The incumbent will provide expert leadership, foster team collaboration, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Additionally, this position is accountable for driving financial performance, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Project Manager will embody and uphold the company's core values in all aspects of their work, striving for excellence and innovation in every project.

What You'll Do

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure project objectives are clearly defined and achievable.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and regulations.
  • Provide expert leadership and guidance to the project team, including field foremen and support staff.
  • Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide mentorship to enhance the capabilities of the project team.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging effective communication and problem-solving among team members.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project status, address challenges, and provide strategic direction.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and managing change orders.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payments, and financial reporting.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project profitability.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews to assess project performance and address variances.
  • Assist in collections efforts to ensure timely and accurate payments from clients.

  • Evaluate change order requests, assess their impact on project scope, schedule, and cost, and negotiate terms with the general contractor to ensure fair compensation for additional work or variations.
  • Oversee the creation and submission of proposed change orders.
  • Document and track all change orders, including scope changes, costs, and approvals, to maintain project profitability and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive document control system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of project documentation, including plans, drawings, specifications, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to review and approve project documentation.
  • Oversee the distribution and storage of project documents, ensuring efficient retrieval and accessibility.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trade partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications and inquiries.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and milestones to stakeholders effectively.
  • Address and resolve stakeholder concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Negotiate and manage contractual agreements with clients and subcontractors.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical construction.
  • Drive innovation and excellence within the organization by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing industry-leading solutions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the organization on electrical construction methodologies and emerging technologies.
  • Attend industry conferences, workshops, and training programs to enhance industry knowledge and share insights.
  • Perform any other job-related duties or function as assigned by management.
  • Accountable for leading efforts in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and methodologies to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  • Participate in CECI Continuous Improvement events as needed (ex : JDI, RIE & A3's).
  • Maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for compliance practices and other associated functions.
  • Demonstrates and represents company core values in daily actions, interactions, and decision-making processes.
  • Integrates the company core values into work practices, ensuring that they are reflected in the tasks you undertake, projects you manage, and solutions you provide.
  • Proactively seek ways to enhance and strengthen the integration of core values within direct role and the entire enterprise.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical project management, with a focus on large-scale and complex projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex construction projects of varying complexity and size.
  • Ability to lead and inspire project teams, including field foremen and support staff, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members.
  • Skilled in negotiating and managing contractual agreements with clients and subcontractors to ensure project success.
  • Proactive in identifying potential risks and issues, developing effective mitigation strategies, and resolving stakeholder concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, delegate responsibilities, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Meticulous in overseeing project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all project-related documents.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, including budget development, expense tracking, cost forecasting, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Well informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management principles, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical construction methodologies, codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
