Amazon is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to play a key role on our Alexa AI Finance team, supporting the science team developing the newest Alexa architecture. Over the past decade Amazon has developed a number of market-leading, innovative, and fast-growing digital businesses including Kindle, Kindle Fire Tablets, Fire TV and Echo. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work directly with science, engineering and business leaders to identify opportunities and develop business cases. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, detail oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial responsibilities and decision making in a rapidly evolving business. This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with senior executives, various business units, and multiple stakeholders across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. This role supports a technical business team and will contribute to the future direction through data analysis and clear articulation of what really matters in rapidly evolving environments.

Key job responsibilities

• Leading the financial planning and forecasting process for science driven business initiatives under Alexa
• Building and presenting KPI dashboards with financial and business insights each month and quarter for specific business metrics
• Owning finance communication with the business teams on product performance, long term planning, risks, and opportunities.
• Driving automation and scale of financial reporting in order to simplify process for internal stakeholders (e.g., finance peers and monetization partners)
• Lead deep dives into key cost drivers for month end reviews, forecasts, and annual operating plans
• Partner with the business to make trade-off decisions regarding resourcing and support levels, including ownership of review meetings

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form

Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes

CPA, or MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
