Role snapshot
Drive performance of autonomous machinery, elevate process standardization, and lead Automation Specialists across sites. You’ll blend floor-level troubleshooting with systems thinking, data analysis, and structured testing to deliver reliable, efficient automation.
What you’ll own
- Operational readiness and performance of automated equipment in partnership with operations leadership.
- Hands-on verification and recovery of automation and robotics assets.
- Root-cause analysis for issues tied to change orders / enhancements; partner with IT to implement fixes.
- Definition and monitoring of KPIs with distribution / fulfillment leadership.
- Continuous improvement projects focused on safety, productivity, cost, and waste reduction.
- SOP authorship and upkeep; coordinate training and change communication.
- Training lifecycle management with DC training teams, including audit-based validation of completion.
- Data extraction / analysis to identify gaps and propose enhancements or corrective actions.
- Coordination with internal / external test resources to validate new code and recommend modifications.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect logging, and feedback to stakeholders.
- People leadership : hiring recommendations, performance coaching, reviews, promotions, corrective action, terminations, and pay adjustments.
- Workflow direction and SOP compliance audits to meet area goals.
- Time and attendance accuracy; resource optimization of equipment, facilities, staff, methods, and materials.
- Team communications via weekly meetings and regular 1 : 1s; support development through coaching, training, and company learning tools.

Qualifications
Associate’s in PLC Programming, Automation / Robotics, or related field; or 5+ years relevant experience.4+ years of leadership background.5+ years PLC programming or automation design / assembly.5+ years maintaining automation in manufacturing.Current PLC platforms knowledge; ability to read blueprints / electrical schematics.Experience with 2D / 3D software and document management systems.Strong electrical and mechanical skill set; solid math foundation.Hands-on : fabricate parts or assemble machines using hand tools.Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.); measure in English and Metric.Fluency with 2D / 3D mechanical drawings and translating specifications into results.Team collaboration, multitasking in fast-paced environments, and high attention to detail.Excellent written / verbal communication; time management and organizational strength.Independent and team-based work style; analytical, confidential, and resourceful problem-solver.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internet tools.Professional, respectful, and empathetic in customer and coworker interactions; steady under pressure with employee / vendor / customer issues.Technical proficiencies
