Overview
Universal Banker - Business Banker role at Orange Bank & Trust Company. The Business Banker is responsible for performing intermediate duties and support related to branch operational activities and financial services; handles teller transactions, processes new account transactions, assists customers in selecting accounts and financial services, cross-sells bank products and services, opens, maintains, and closes account types, performs branch clerical duties, and promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The position requires knowledge and skills in the areas of new account desk, teller, and safe deposit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to all assigned areas of branch operations where service or assistance is needed, including platform area, teller line, and safe deposit.
- Perform regular daily, weekly, and monthly customer service duties.
- Maintain a cash drawer to process client transactions and handle large sums of cash accurately and efficiently; maintain cash limits and perform all phases of teller work.
- Aim to achieve and maintain customer satisfaction through excellence in service delivery, follow-up, and problem resolution.
- Assist consumer and business customers in selecting accounts, products, and financial services; ensure cross-sell opportunities are presented using professional sales techniques.
- Interview customers to obtain information, establish proper identification of new customers, and determine the need and extent of reference investigations.
- Assist management with business phone calls and client outreach to achieve budget goals.
- Prepare for audits and alternate opening and closing of the branch with management.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the complete line of products and services; stay up to date and seek assistance for further development needs.
- Perform all other duties assigned by management.
Education, Certification, Experience
Required : High School Diploma or GEDPreferred : Associate's DegreeExperience : Required : Minimum of one year banking experience working as a Teller and / or Universal Banker.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required : Positive and professional attitude at all times; accurate currency counting; friendly, outgoing customer service; good decision-making; ability to make quick informed decisions and seek assistance as needed; team-oriented; able to work with minimal supervision; maintains confidentiality; strong internal and external customer contact.Preferred : Organization, ability to work at a fast pace, multitasking, knowledge of bank policies and procedures for teller line and customer service, good judgment; ability to handle change, stress, and daily activity pressures.Work Environment
Position is performed in a branch setting with some external business conduct. Equipment includes network systems, computers, office equipment.
