Cape Girardeau, MO | Salary : $46,000-$51,000 / year

Full-Time, Day Shift (M-F, 8 : 00a-4 : 30p) - Must be flexible on schedule

The Psychiatric Individualized Supportive Living (PISL) Program

PISL is four-bedroom living arrangement for transitional adults between 18 years up to 26 with a diagnosed severe and persistent mental health illness. The residents must demonstrate willingness, desire, and need to learn and / or improve independent living skills. Individuals may have a variety of presenting problems including a history of mental illness, severe functional disability, (i.e. inability to work, live independently, or maintain adequate social support) and possibly substance use / dependency issues.

Job Summary

Community Counseling Center (CCC) is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) facility in Cape Girardeau, MO. This role ensures client safety, facility maintenance, and compliance with all regulations while supervising BHTs and floating BHTs. The Coordinator will manage staff scheduling, training, and performance, coordinate with clinical teams, and handle operational tasks such as budgeting, purchasing, and emergency coverage. Ideal candidates have a background in human services, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to supporting mental health recovery in a residential setting.

Essential Functions

Facility Operations and Compliance :

  • Implement and ensure compliance with all licensure rules, regulations, and documentation timelines.
  • Oversee fire, safety, health, and sanitation procedures.
  • Manage the general operation and daily routine of the facility, including routine purchasing and operational budget control in accordance with licensing regulations and standards.
  • Collect, review, and sign off on observation logs daily, and conduct weekly reviews of camera footage for staff performance verification.
  • Handle financial functions, including collecting room and board.
  • Staff Supervision and Development :

  • Supervise BHTs and floating BHTs, including scheduling, timecard management, ETO approval, and corrective actions.
  • Provide agency orientation and training to new BHTs.
  • Coordinate hiring processes with HR, including screening, interviewing, and follow-ups.
  • Proactively provide feedback, training, and accountability to supervisees, issuing corrective discipline and recommending terminations when necessary.
  • Be available after hours or ensure coverage for facility-related emergencies, including on-call duties and covering vacant shifts.
  • Client Care and Collaboration :

  • Participate in treatment team and residential meetings, collaborating with the clinical manager and Residential Nurse or Nursing Supervisor on medication-related situations.
  • Assist with discharge / transition planning for residents leaving the program.
  • Document according to clinical policies, procedures, DMH, CARF, and other federal or state standards.
  • Responsible for transporting clients in agency or personal vehicles as needed to meet program requirements.
  • Agency-Wide Responsibilities :

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client and personnel matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments and community members.
  • Participate in all required meetings as determined by supervisor or agency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Criminal Justice, Recreational Therapy, Human Development and Family Studies, Counseling, Child Development, Gerontology, Sociology, Human Services, Behavioral Science, or Rehabilitation Counseling); OR High School Diploma with 3+ years of experience in the Mental Health field.
  • Valid driver's license for current state of residence (Class E for Missouri or equivalent), with current auto insurance and compliance with CCC's Motor Vehicle Record standards.
  • Experience in residential mental health settings preferred, with supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of DMH, CARF, and relevant regulations.
