The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Director of Nursing is responsible for coordinating daily ASC functions, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. This role oversees operations, safety, infection control, and quality initiatives, and ensures that staff are trained, competent, and supported.
The person hired into this role will train in our Interventional Pain Clinic, then transition to the ASC when it opens later this year.
Compensation : $100,000-$120,000 per year
Schedule : Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations :
- Oversee day to day ASC operations, including staffing, scheduling, and compliance with CMS and Joint Commission regulations.
- Lead and supervise all ASC staff (clinical and non-clinical), ensuring training, licensure, and ongoing competency.
- Promote a collaborative, patient-focused culture with strong physician and employee relations.
- Maintain accurate reporting and records for regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Quality, Safety & Compliance :
Lead Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, incident reviews, and grievance resolution.Develop, implement, and monitor policies related to life safety, infection control, and radiation safety.Conduct safety and infection control training, drills, and annual competency evaluations.Ensure staff adherence to established safety and infection control policies.Monitor supplies, equipment, and safety logs (daily, quarterly, annually).Training & Education :
Implement onboarding, orientation, and ongoing staff education programs.Provide in-services on safety, infection control, and ASC best practices.Stay current on industry standards and ensure knowledge transfer to staff.Customer Service & Culture :
Foster a professional, collaborative environment for staff, physicians, and patients.Oversee employee and physician satisfaction surveys and implement improvements.Additional Duties :
Regularly monitor email and complete required training and in-services.Perform other responsibilities as assigned.Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree + 2 years of clinical experience (or equivalent combination).Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.Prior senior-level experience in ASC or healthcare management strongly preferred.Certification as an Infection Preventionist preferred.Strong knowledge of healthcare field, medical specialty, and terminology.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Skills & Abilities :
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task under pressure.Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and maintain professionalism in stressful situations.Demonstrated ability to oversee, coach, and direct clinical and non-clinical teams.Commitment to customer service, ethics, and continuous improvement.Physical Demands :
