The Director of Sales is a strategic and creative leader responsible for storytelling, team development, and revenue growth across leisure, group, and lifestyle segments.
A Director of Sales is responsible for maximizing asset value by driving above-market topline revenues and creating a world-class culture to attract and retain top talent across commercial functions. Hilton’s Commercial Services organization includes sales, revenue, marketing, catering and events, call centers, and analytics—critical to driving profitable growth.

What will I be doing?
The primary responsibilities are to lead the group, transient, and catering sales teams (where applicable) and deploy business strategies that are creative, dynamic, and impactful toward achieving the hotels’ annual budget and crossover targets. You will oversee commercial strategies for your sales team with the goal of improving performance by connecting strategy and business processes. Business processes should impact revenue streams including Rooms, Catering, and Events. Key deliverables include deployment, team composition, and a cadence of activities using a predictive and prescriptive approach to drive performance. You should possess strong leadership, communication, and networking skills and facilitate the delivery of the Americas Commercial Operating Model pertaining to rooms and banquets sales.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the hotel’s Annual Multi-Year Strategic Intentions and Commercial Strategy, in partnership with the hotel commercial leadership team and regional sales, revenue and marketing support
- Directly accountable for setting the strategy and delivery of the hotel’s sales targets including Direct Selling Revenue Streams such as group rooms, banquets, catering, business transient, and leisure transient
- Work with Hotel’s Commercial Leadership to ensure that Business Review Guidelines (current to +5 years) and Group Pricing & Rate Quotation Strategies are in place to maximize pricing components of sales and catering opportunities and achieve positive group market share
- Strategically align sales activities with established optimal mix, contribute to revenue forecast accuracy, and execute strategies for different demand periods and pricing targets for retail and group segments
- Understand and contribute to profitability in line with GOP and EBITDA targets
- Operate within the departmental expense budget and forecasts
- Collaborate with hotel commercial leaders to develop knowledge of competitor and market activity
Leadership
Lead daily and weekly business review and sales strategy meetingsManage monthly, quarterly, and annual performance processes with eligible sales team membersCollaborate with the DOSM to socialize and amend the commercial strategy planDevelop and oversee the hotel’s sales site visit strategies and approachesConform to Hilton brand standards and corporate identity and utilize all communication toolsRecruitment and retention of all sales rolesLead, engage, and develop sales team members with ongoing performance development and Career Development PlansConduct performance reviews for direct reports and provide feedback for dotted line reports, including : Group Sales, Business Transient Sales, Leisure Sales, Catering Sales, Contract / PERM SalesFoster a culture aligned with Hilton’s DEI and ESG goalsOwnership, Customer, and Stakeholder Relations
Contribute to performance and commercial activity reporting for hotelsLiaise with Hilton Worldwide Sales for demand and conversion generationBuild strong relationships with CVB and third-party travel partnersEngage with customers across sales segments and support site visits and market travel as neededQualifications
Minimum qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree preferredThree (3) or more years in hospitality sales leadership preferredThree (3) years cross-functional experience in hotel management or related industry preferredAbility to work on property – non-remote positionAdditional capabilities and distinctions (helpful) :
