About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

Profession : Respiratory Care

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : 2 years of critical care experience within the last 12 months

License : RRT credentialed and state license required

Certifications : BLS

Must-Have :

Experience with all adult trauma and burns, both medically and neurologically complicated.

Experience with tracheostomy patients and spinal cord injury patients.

Experience with complex sleep disordered breathing.

Description :

Travelers can have 1 of 3 major holidays and 3 additional non-holiday days off.

Holiday periods are restricted from November 22 to December 1, December 22 to December 27, and December 28 to January 5.

The facility highly prefers travelers to work during Christmas.

Candidates must have critical care experience within the last 12 months.

Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.

Training in pediatrics is open to candidates.

The position requires every scheduled shift to be worked, as the facility cannot accommodate scheduling requests outside of approved time off.

The position is in a high-acuity environment, working with adult trauma and burn patients.

The unit sees patients of all ages, but the pediatric population is generally small.

Candidates will work in a busy environment with emergency transfers.

The team consists of multiple therapists per shift, typically handling a ventilator load of 4 to 6 with some non-intubated patient care.

The facility uses various therapist-driven protocols.

Special equipment in use includes ventilators, INO, inhaled epoprostenol, and techniques for lung protective ventilation.

Experience with monitoring, vent management, and oxygen therapy is required.

Experience in adult intensive care units is needed, including BPICU, SICU, and MICU.
