Position Overview

Employment Status : Full Time Year Round

Wage Range : $75,000 to $90,000 per year

Minimum Age : 21

About the Role

As the Water and Sewer Manager , you will play a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive operation of Schweitzer's water and sewer systems, ensuring clean, safe drinking water and effective wastewater management for our community. Your responsibilities will include :

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight :

Plan, supervise, and evaluate all water and wastewater operations.

Ensure compliance with all permits and environmental regulations.

Address operational emergencies and serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies.

Technical Management :

Maintain infrastructure and oversee major construction and repair projects.

Collaborate on snow removal and stormwater planning.

Financial Administration :

Develop and manage operating and capital improvement budgets.

Monitor utility rates for long-term planning.

Staff Supervision :

Supervise Water and Utility Company staff, including hiring and training.

Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure high performance standards.

Customer & Community Relations :

Act as the primary contact for water / sewer customers.

Promote educational and environmental initiatives within the community.

Operational Duties :

Perform duties of a certified water and wastewater operator.

Maintain accurate records and ensure disaster preparedness protocols are in place.

Qualifications

Education : Minimum GED or equivalent skills

Experience : At least 5 years in a supervisory role and 5 years of relevant field experience

Licenses / Certifications : Must have and maintain all required certifications for water and wastewater treatment

Technical Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems

Physical Capabilities : Ability to navigate rough terrain and lift up to 50 lbs
