Description

The Transmission Rebuild Technician is responsible for providing high-quality repair services on transmission systems and other component repairs as needed. The role involves responding to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for the work performed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Rebuild automatic and manual transmissions
• Diagnose and troubleshoot all systems, and repair and service various types of equipment
• Maintain and repair transmission systems and other systems as needed
• Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times and re-work metrics
• Work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures
• Accurately complete related paperwork and access databases required for the job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, BMTS)
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision
• Diagnose problems, recommend repairs, and perform critical transmission, machine, and engine repairs and adjustments
• Test and verify the correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
• Apply failure analysis procedures for proper diagnosis
• Adhere to all company policies
• Complete all assigned training in a timely and proficient manner

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear. Frequently required to climb or balance; occasionally sit or smell. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to adjust focus. The employee may lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, wet / humid conditions, heights, fumes, weather extremes, electrical shock, and vibration.
