Schedule : 4 days per week - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday + 1 additional weekday

We are currently looking for a new medical assistant to join our Tampa clinic at Academic Alliance in Dermatology. Academic Alliance in Dermatology, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology, has 20 locations throughout Southwest & Central Florida. Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room and confirm first & last name & DOB.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Organize patient flow.
• Setup procedure tray, instruments, and equipment according to instructions.
• Prepare Path / lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patient insurance plan.
• Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed.
• Check to-dos / Nurse line.
• Calibrate, clean, sterilize and inventory all equipment & instruments according to schedule. Keep appropriate records of maintenance.
• Maintain medication supplies, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records.
• Maintain infection control and make sure supply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
• Ordering, sorting, restocking and inventory of all supplies.
• Document all medical instructions given to patients, thoroughly review wound care with patients when applicable.
• Anesthesia / Inject for procedures.
• Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed in a timely manner.
